hands/on: Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Celestial 80496

A while ago I had the chance to put my hands on one of the recent creations within the Cat’s Eye collection. The Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Celestial with Aventurine dial in pink gold case and diamond settings. The combination of pink gold with dark blue works very well for a Ladies watch. More a watch for a special night out than a daily office wear, but that makes it even more special.

What makes the Celestial Cat’s Eye stand out is its characteristic large moon phase. The moon phase here is the only complication added, giving it a romantic twist. The moon has a diameter of 8.9mm and is applied as a mother-of-pearl disc standing out on the Aventurine dial. It does a complete rotation in 59 days, representing T.W.O moon cycles.

The case is the typical oval shaped Cat’s Eye case that is both elegant and comfortable on the wrist. A dark blue shiny alligator strap and a pink gold deployant buckle complete the watch. Automatic caliber GP03300-0125 takes reliably care of the mechanical works. The see-through case back shows a nicely decorated pink gold rotor.

Overall, a very romantic addition to the Cat’s Eye collection with wonderful colours for the evening attire of a classy lady.
