watches/not/gp: Doxa from the 1950s

Time to send a life sign to my readers. I have been overly busy with work the last few weeks and did not get a chance to write. It’s going to be like this a few more weeks, so only a short sneak peak on a new Doxa in my collection. Doxa is a brand I surely need to come back to with more details and …ahem… more watches.

What I found here is a very nice 1950s Doxa in 14k Pink Gold case with oh those wonderful lugs. Usually dubbed crab lugs. There is a very similar Vacheron with this case design, also re-released as Historiques Ref 48003, but the Doxa does not fall short in its design. The dial has very nice details and that case and the lugs, oh I simply love them. Inside beats an AS 1361 caliber which was found in many other brands at that time, such as GP or Blancpain.

I have seen one other like this on the Web, but I do not know the Reference number, so in case anyone knows or has an old catalogue print, do let me know.
