Let’s continue to look at some amazing watches from Girard-Perregaux, this time, something special from the Ladies collection, the Cat’s Eye. Of course, we love our watches and mostly watch collecting is a men’s world, but that should not stop us from looking at some gorgeous women watches. Often, women watches are nothing special mechanically or even design-wise, they simply come in precious metals or stuffed with diamonds.
The Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye line begs to differ. Yes, there are diamonds, on some of them even a lot, but on the other hand, the Car’s Eye is an exclusive design with historic roots and having it’s own movements and complications. Most notably is probably the Bi-Retro Cat’s Eye with a double retrograde complication for seconds and day display.
The Reference 80484 on the other hand is relatively simple mechanically speaking. Small seconds and date is not exactly a special complication, however, the overall design and aesthetics of this model does stand out. Rarely seen on this Reference is the smooth bezel without diamonds, which is much more elegant than the diamond-glad bezel. The Mother-Of-Pearl dial only has 8 discretely placed diamonds as hour markers.
