While I’m still writing on the next background/report and it takes a bit longer than planned, let’s share a fresh picture of another Girard-Perregaux Alarm watch. Ref. 9490 HK goes back to the 1970s and has a pronounced cushion shape case. Unlike most GP Alarm watches, the alarm is set with an arrow-hand rather than a rotating disc in an arched dial opening. The blue dial has a vertical brush.
Inside is still an alarm caliber based on a A.Schild movement, manual wind but with date complication. Maximum diameter is a small 35mm, which appears even smaller with the cushion case, but provides a special charm.
