from/my/collection: Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 – vintage Vintage and modern Vintage

The Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 collection was launched by GP in 1995 with Ref. 2595, initially named “Vintage 1995” but based upon a museum piece of a Girard-Perregaux Tank watch from 1945.

The today famous case was seen in a few references and roots its design in classic Art Deco. My “vintage” Vintage 45 is Ref. 5080 and has a gold-capped outer bezel and a steel body. Put next to the modern reincarnation it shows that it is actually not that much smaller.

A Vintage 45 is a must have in any Girard-Perregaux collection, but being able to add a vintage Vintage 45 is the cherry on the cake.
